According to Big Pupi's foster mom (who has taken care of 200+ cockers), and as we found out first hand, grains are an extremely common cause of issues in our breed. Corn is the numero uno offender, and inflammation brought on by allergies can leave the ear canals unable to drain properly. All that moisture and warmth makes those yeasties mighty happy! Only once we changed our food did ear problems disappear.
There are lots of kibbles available now that are grain free. Really good stuff. If you'd like a list of some good ones to check out let us know and we'll send an email!
And mom really likes Keto ear cleaner - available thru the vet. We use it whenever we've been swimming and our heads go under water from jumping in. It works like a charm!
