Remembering Sumo

Hi everybody. Paris Rain here!!

Today would have been the 15th birthday of my Unkkie Mo. He was mom's dog before I was even born. His mom was a purebred buff cocker spaniel like me and his dad - well we can only guess!

His birth name is GC Sumo Mutley. Or just Sumo. Mom had all kinds of nicknames for him: MoSu, Mo, Mosuvious, MoMan; the list goes on and on. Dad had a bunch of nicknames too, none of which I can say here.

Anyway, here is a pic of the MoMan one Christmas:

His hobbies included chewing on the antique dining room table, destuffing every toy and bed he ever had, chewing on mom's tennis shoes, and totally destroying our living room wall. Yes, I know he is an inspiration for all! Mom said he was the sweetest dog ever (hey mom!) and she still misses the Mo Man.

Today is also our GwamPa's birthday!

Before & After

Paris and I went to the groomers today. We just got back as a matter of fact. Can you tell a difference in our before & after shots?

Paris before:

Paris after:

Me before:

& me after:

Mom says the only difference with me is that I smell a WHOLE lot better and my private's are cleaner. Gross mom!

When I got back to the house, look at who was taking a sip out of MY antimicrobial water dish:

The nerve of that guy!

I hope everybody is having a super weekend!

More on Mean old Ike

That's what Mom calls him. Actually I didn't think he was that bad.

I mean, when else am I gonna go to a hotel, sleep in the same bed as my parents, go for 10 walks a day and have mom at home with me all day long?? SWEET!

Here's us getting ready to go to sleep. Notice how shaggy Paris is getting!

The only stressful time though was when mom and dad came back from dinner and showed me this picture on the cell phone and said "Look what Hurricane Ike blew in -- It's Macky's brand new baby sister!" Man I was sweating bullets:

I mean 2 sisters is way too many - what in the Sam Hill am I gonna do with THREE!!!!

Well, mom kept on and on about the puppy and finally she fessed up -- her and dad went to a pet store and mom just HAD to hold the baby BT. That's all - holding - not BUYING! So no new sister for Mack. Thank dogness!!

Here are some pics of our backyard after Dad did some cleanup - You can see we still have beaucoups of limbs everywhere:

We want to THANK EVERYBODY for their prayers and well wishes. You guys ROCK!

Macky's Big Adventure

Well I'm sort of confused because I always thought Ike was this super awesome brown BT with a killer Gene Simmons tongue who was married to Martha. Well, mom says we had to leave our house for over a week because of Ike, so no one gets hurt. It doesn't make sense to me. All I know is .....

IT WAS AWESOME!

I got to sleep with my mom and dad every night and go up and down on the elevator and have like a jillion walkies a day!!

Mom and Dad were really stressed; I can't figure it out.
My "hurrication" is over now; I'm back home and we didn't have any damage to our house.
Even though I had a super fun time - I really missed you guys!!

Part II tomorrow: What Ike blew in!!!

Today was a good day for...

Chasing buggies:

Tearing up stuffies:

Playing soccer:

And even walkies!!! Today was the first day in a looooong time I've been on a decent walk. We even had a pleasant breeze today which is so odd for us this time of year.

I was exhaustimicated when I got home. Here I am chillin' out by the fan:

Have a great Sunday!

so boring

It's so boring around here...

AND THAT'S THE WAY WE LIKE IT!

We don't like worrying about hurricanes and at this moment in time none are near our house!

We are saying a little prayer for those who are in Hanna or Ike's path. Go away you mean and evil hurricanes!

Today mom said she could feel fall in the air and that is always good. We took the day off from our normally hectic schedule to enjoy the sunshine, count our blessings and do stuff like that.

And best of all - tomorrow is Friday!!

We're sad...

... about our friends to the east, near New Orleans and all who have lost their homes and jobs due to that evil Gustav. And just thinking about all the people in the Carribean who have lost their lives makes us want to cry.

Here we are, reflecting on how lucky us poochies are to have a home (with AC), and feeling so bad for those who don't:

Well, I should saying Paris and I are in a reflective, prayerful mood.

Lilly has been spending her Labor Day holiday drinking tequila and cursing at the neighborhood kids who walk by!

Give it up Lilly. Anyhoo, here are two great places to donate to those doggies in need (and the wonderful people who help them):
