An Only Child .....For a Day

Hola! Tia Lilly here. I have to tell you about what a wonderful fantastic day yesterday was. Mack and Paris went to the spa and I had my mom to myself for the whole day! (Well till 2 PM anyway).
It was totally awesome! First up Mom let me help her with her lunch:
I was happy to help moma!
Whoaa--that is a huge piece of cheese -- but I can handle it though.
I got a whole eighth of a hard boiled egg white. A whole eighth!!

Even the birdy was enjoying the other doggies being gone!!

Mom and I took a nap after lunch, then after that I protected her from the evil people who came to clean the A/C.

2 O'clock came pretty fast. But just making fun of Paris' new haircut made it all better!
She went and hid under the covers!!!!

But Mack didn't change much....
He's still the messiest mess ever !

.....about a very important subject matter. My hair. Do you think I should keep it long and flowing and sexy and gorgeous like this? Mom is threatening to take me to the groomers and I just don't see the point. So what do you think?

Good evening my sleepy time amigos! Tia Lilly here. I hope you enjoy tonight's story.

Our characters tonight are a set of sibling ne’r do wells who were spoiled rotten by their momma, while their beautiful senior citizen aunt (who took care of them wholly) was left to fend for herself.

Our tail starts off with the evil Max, a slow witted boy who was handed everything in life on a silver platter. He and his ditzy sister Maris entered a contest where the participants guessed how many Milky Bones were in a hoooge jar. The winner got to take the jar of MB’s home. Well, fat boy, I mean Max was so over fed he couldn’t waddle himself down to the local petstore to count the bones! So he got his ex-convict sister Maris to go down to the place and steal the jar so she could bring it back home and they could take as long as they wanted to count the bones. They promised each other they would return the Milky Bone jar just as soon as they were confident they had that magic number. Well, their clever aunty, Tia Rosalita, overheard them and called the police just as fast as her itty bitty feet could take her to the phone. The cops came to their house and gave them a good talking to. Blockhead boy and Airhead girl both starting crying and ran to their momma and the beautiful aunty had a great big old laugh!! Ha ha ha ha!!

So children, the moral of the story is : when you are planning a crime, ALWAYS do it in secrecy. Sleep good ninos!!!

I sure hope not!!! Mom has just been so "busy" with her hummingbirds and cardinals and nonsense like that. She is really getting very lax about my blog. NOT GOOD! So please forgive me if we have been MIA, it is all mom's fault. Anyhoo, things are about the same here. I went to my eye specialist last week and he said my eye was looking real good, and I don't have to go back for another six months! Woot! Oh yeah, I really have to APOLOGIZE for the mishap at the Boston Butt club last week. I had NO idea Lilly would show up with some Mexican fireworks which are completely BANNED during our awful drought! I promise I will reimburse all bail monies!! Geesh Lilly!

Speaking of the devil, mom took some videos of Miss Thing #1. We want to ask you: Is this anyway a dignified 19 year old acts????

And Thing #2?? We all know she is not an adorable cuddle bunny, but a closet Rage Monkey!

First off a great big huge THANK YOU is in order to everybody that pawticipated in my comment-a-thon. You are awesome!
And secondly, ladies, please there is enough of the Mackman to go around. Flattery will get you nowhere - but I do hope you'll keep trying!
And thirdly a special shout out goes to my special fraulein -- you know who you are!

Also, I would like to keep you abreast of all the upcoming excitement happening in the near future over at Mack's Mess.

It's gonna be a whopper of a Fall (granted we don't get any hurrycanes).

Next Sunday night I will be hosting the first Boston Butt club. We will discuss the joys of being a BT and also the downside to being so precious. We will have a fashion show for the ladies, hosted by Kitty, and for the guys we will have a raffle for a weather resistant polyurethane fire hydrant.
You do NOT have to be a BT to attend! (But everyone must sign a waiver that releases me from all damages caused by any BT zoomies that may occur)

Then, in a couple of weeks Lilly will be performing at the Tropicana Supper Club.
You won't want to miss this!! Tickets are just .... well they're probably gonna be free.

In October Lilly's brother-in-law Victor (below) will be visiting. Join us as we celebrate their happy reunion - they haven't seen each other in 107 years!

And lastly, Paris Rain will be opening up a charm school/fish restaurant. (If the bank says yes). Send your unruly teenager to Paris Rain and she will come home a southern belle and wonderful fry cook.

Eyebally Update

Hey everybody! Mackypoo here. The doc says I don't have to have another follow-up for my eye till September!! WoooOOoooOoOT!

He says the ulcer is healing pretty good, but I'll probably have to have eye drops the rest of my life cause I have a major case of the dry eye!! And he thinks that's what caused the ulcer thingy.
I don't mind the drops because I know mom always gives me a treat right after. Not bad, right?

THANKS everypup so much for all your prayers and healing sugars you sent our way - cause they helped. You're PAWSOME!

Having this messed up eye is not all bad. Having mom put these in my eyes every few hours is pretty awful,

and those pills there on the left are the absolute nastiest tasting things on earth. But mom feels sorry for me and bought all this stuff:

Those Vienna sausages are the best thing I have ever had! When mom "hides" my yucky pain pill in em, I gulp it down! I highly recommend them for taking pills or just fine dining. And baby food and Frosty Paws? Need I say more?!

And she doesn't want me to lose my buff figure, so we have been doing walkies again! We have to go real early, or the weather is unbearable. Here I am on my favorite part of the walk: the sewer! It has so many great smells and stuff. Mom can hardly pull me away most of the time, but today I am being "good".:

Well, maybe I'm distracted cause I see my smokin' hot neighbor.
Here I am inviting her over for some chowda and Sam Adams later this afternoon:

She said she had to wash her hair. Oh well.

Anyhoo, mom wants to send a HUGE THANK YOU to everybody who sent us suggestions as to an E-collar and all the wonderful well-wishes. Mom went ahead and got the Comfy collar. But you know what? I have been SO GOOD we haven't had to use it yet!! Mom says it's my pain meds that are making me so sleepy that my eye doesn't bother me.
Whatever. Just keep the Vienna sausages comin woman.

And we hope everybody has a wonderful 4th of July (No matter where you live!)
We won't be doing anything out of the ordinary.
Lilly will be sitting by the window, with her case of Dos Equis, cursing at the neighbor kids passing by.

Good Vibes Needed Pwease!

Hi everybody. Well my wonky eye is not healing like it should so mom took me to an eye specialist today. I need all the good vibes, prayers, purrayers, and healing sugars you can send! They will be very much appreciated!
Doc said it WASN'T my fault (hear that mom?) that I have an ulcer on my cornea. He said my tear ducts are wonkified. That's the medical term. Anyhoo he gave me three different eye drops and one bottle of pain pills, which taste TERRIBLE! I hope I will be getting some ice cream to chase that sucker down.
Mom wanted me to ask you what kind of E-collar do you recommend. I am guilty of rubbing my eyes a little and the doctor said that was a big no-no.
So we go back to see Dr Swanson in a week. He's an okay guy, but I prefer not to be poked and prodded thank you very much.

In much, much happier news look see what we WON:

It was from Charlie's Raffle and we were so surprised when it came in the mail! We didn't even know we had won! Thank you so much Mollie Jo and BoBo. It is beautiful!

Oh, and mom's been threatening me when my eye ordeal is over she's gonna start taking me to classes at PetSmart! It's like manners 101 for pooches. Like I need that.
She says I need the exercise and socialization and stuff. I get all the exercise I need stirring up dirt in the yard after I do #2.

My Eye's Gone all Wonky!

How was everybody's weekend? Mine was horrible. First thing Saturday morning mom gets my harness on me and I'm all excited and everything and thinking I'm gonna get to go the bark park without Paris. Wrong. We went to the V-E-T. At least this one's not evil like my last one. Anyway, mom's been noticing me pawing at my eye and closing it a lot. Come to find out I have an ulcer in my right eye! Lordy! So the doctor gave mom two tubes of oinkment and made another appointment with the vet for this Thursday to check on my wonky eye.

It only gets worse from there. While we were at said vet, the tech just happened to mention she had a boxful of boxer puppies in the back. She offered to bring them up front so mom could see them. Lady! Now all mom is talking about is how much she wants a boxer and how cute they were. All the while I am standing on the ground waiting to go home, with a HUGE labramess right beside, looking at me like I was his brunch!

Well, my story doesn't end there. You know who else has a wonky eye? Paris Rain! She got hers before she came to live with us. Hers is permanent and required surgery. Seems like an evil kitteh scratched her eyeball. She better not start calling me a copy cat or anything!

(Mom says it's kinda hard to get a good pic of Paris' wonky eye. It's her left one. At least mine is my right)

The 'rents went out for Chinese yesterday and look what mom's fortune was:

So I guess this means this whole week's gonna be about eye medication, cuddles, kisses and another trip to the vet.

DON'T Go To This Booth!

Well it is picnic time here in DWB. We did our Bobbing-For-Tubesteaks last weekend (Really, I wish my mom would learn how to read a calendar)and the surprise winner was old lady Lilly. I think Kitty had it right when she said we Boston's have a very unfair disadvantage with our short snouts! And a lot of people asked if Lilly was really 18 anos. Yes she is. Every day of it.
But anyhoo, just wanted to WARN everybody who goes to the picnic to STAY AWAY from Lilly's Nail Spa booth. There have been some very unhappy customers who have threatened legal action.
Here's proof why you shouldn't get your nails done there:

However, I must mention Paris' all-you-can-eat rabbit treat stand is doing quite well.

Well we've had a visitor at Mack's Mess. Mom won't let me give him any Macky sugars cause she says I might get a little too "friendly".

Here's me being being upset cause mom let the birdy use my pool. Which I don't like and never use, but that's beside the point.

His Mommy lives in the big old Oak tree in our front yard. He finally figured out how to get back to his nest.

My First-Ever Picnic!

Hola amigos! Today was about the best day EVER! Can you believe I (Lilliana) am 18 years young and have never been to a picnic before??? It was AWESOME! Sarge and Frankie Furter are hosting it. It's all day today and manana.

You've got to come and experience the fun! There's a rumor that Frankie's mom is baking 87-1/2 batches of her famous chicken liver brownies. They are pretty much world famous.
Anyway, We just got back from the Bobbing for Tubesteak Contest and I have never ever had so much fun!

CAUSE I WON FIRST PLACE at the Mack'sMess division!!! Eat my dust gringos! Here's the recap:

Okay, coming in at third place in Paris. She was just a total dud at this:

Mack, in second place, was a little braver. What mom didn't catch on video was Mack actually retrieving a piece of tubesteak. But not nearly as fast as me.

Peeps-On-Parade!

Happy Memorial Day everybody! Today we are playing along with Sarge, and we have our peeps-on-parade!

Our peeps are total animal lovers! (Thank dog). Mom has had a Rottweiler, Australian Shepherd, mixed cocker, and dad has had Juanita (our cockatoo) for almost 13 years now! Mom had a pair of sugar gliders who had 4 babies. Cool huh? Mom has also had an Oriental Shorthair and Siamese. I'm probably the best of her pets, wouldn't you agree?

Currently on her want list is:
1. Doberman Pinscher
2. Boxer
3. Siamese or Sphynx (I'm really rootin for this one!)
4. Every other breed (feline/canine) out there

First - We just heard the terrible news about one of our oldest and dearest Collie friends - the Key West Collies Deacon has crossed the bridge, quite unexpectedly. We are still in shock by the news. Please go and give them your support and love.

And is it just us, or is Blogger being the biggest brat ever? We couldn't comment, post or in some cases even GET to your bloggies this week. It hasn't been much better this morning either.

No big news from us. Just wanted to check in with my buds. I guess the biggest news this week was that I got a super cool toy. I love anything with that rubbery, slick feel.

Mom, gimme.

Paris found my new bone and started thrashing about on it. The nerve.

And in other big news mom found a flea on Tia Lilly. Can you believe they put a cocker mess on the meds???

What a Week - Whew! Glad It's Almost Over!

Did everybody survive Friday the 13th ok??? Well, mine was BAD because I had to go to the Vet!!
Turns out I have a yeaster infection in my ears! But much less than Paris had, and my ears are cuter anyway.
Ok moving on, I dodge a BULLET last Saturday. Mom came home from "shopping" with these pics on her phone:

When I confronted her, she said she was looking at them for a "friend". That's what they all say.
Then, mom started fussing at me cause I just wanted to say hi to Juana.
What's up with that?

THEN, last night mom decided Mr. Stinky needed to be washed

So I was forced to sleep like this:

...Our mom is just super lazy and her nasty old job has made her a real grouch pot lately.
And she has gone NUTS over planting stinky flowers and watching the birdies feast in our yard.

And she has gone simply batty over these little bitty messes:
She saw the first one of the season at a feeder in the front yard and you would have thought by the sound she made, she won the lottery. Nope, just a little bird.

In the Kitchen with Betty Cocker

Well helluuuuuuuu efurrybody!! and welcome to another addition of What's Cooking with me, Paris Rain, AKA Betty Cocker.
This week we will be cooking a recipe especially for us; It's Peanut Butter and Banana K-9 cookies.

Here's the recipe:

Ingredients

1 egg
1/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup mashed banana
1 tablespoon honey
1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup wheat germ
1 egg white, lightly beaten, for brushing

Directions

Preheat oven to 300 degrees F (150 degrees C). Lightly grease a baking sheet.
Stir together the egg, peanut butter, banana, and honey in a medium bowl; blend thoroughly. Stir in the flour and wheat germ; mix well. Turn dough out onto a floured board and roll to 1/4 inch thick. Cut into desired shapes with a cookie cutter, place on prepared baking sheet, and brush tops with egg white.
Bake biscuits in preheated oven until dried and golden brown, about 30 minutes, depending on size. Remove from oven and cool on a wire rack.

I am thinking seriously about firing my secretary/mom. She thinks her life is more important than my blog. Wrong! Does anybody out there have any suggestions/comments about how they handle their typist when he/she gets all lazy and stuff?

Would you just look at this mess. I don't know what is weirder: mom thinking Paris can wear a size medium sock, or a 20 pound cocky spaniel with feets this big--

Mom thought Paris might benefit from wearing some socks to help with her itchy feet. But why on earth she thought she could EVER fit into Medium size footwear is beyond me. So we're having a give-a-way. The first blogger to want these sockers just email our mom at kullerd(at)cmaaccess(dot)com with your address, ok???! And she'll send em on over. They will definitely fit a medium size doggie's feet nice and snuggly, but just make sure your medium size dog has medium size feet!

Mom is thinking about changing Big Foot's (Paris Rain's) dry kibble and wanted some advice from some great doggie owners such as yourselves. Miss Thing is forever licking her paws and word is that grain-free is the way to go. Mom did some research (when she was supposed to be working) and found a couple of brands were well-tolerated for itchy pooches: A Taste of the Wild and Blue Buffalo. Any body like these? Also, do any of you out there have any special products that have worked on (big) itchy dog foots? Mom says "THANKS!"

Well we found Paris Rain. She had a spa day and came home nekkid. Then proceeded directly to dad's man cave room and started rummaging through the trash! She was put in time out for a while.

Celebrating Numero Cinco

Today's my fifth barkday!
We started celebrating last night with our dindins.

Here's our kibble, mixed with canned delishuzniss, yogurt, honey and a little mini-bone underneath it all:

*Lobby for senior doggy rights, (I am planning a trip for us to DC in the spring)

*Boycott Boston terriers over 29 pounds

*Have a coupon club (My mom could be president of that part)

*Organize a sleep-in for local shelters (bring your jammies!)

*Look at old pics of me when I was a dancer at the Copacabana

*Have a fund-raiser for Siblings of Cockers

Lilliana here! Thanks so much for all the nice comments! And yes I am 17 years old. But I didn't go to live with my peeps till I was 10! See my madre had just come back home after living in Oklahoma for 4 years. She wasn't working so her and cuzzin Katie were volunteering at the local SPCA. She saw me and the rest is history....almost. Mom called up the Chihuahua rescue group and then offered to foster me until I found my furrever home. Perspective Lilly parents would ask, "is she good with kids"?...Mom said NO..."Is she good with cats?"....NO...."Is she quiet?"...NO..."Is she healthy?".....NO..(I was heartworm positive at the time). You get the picture. So mom kept on fostering me...and saying NO! I was treated for my heartwormies and kennel cough and I got stronger. Well nobody has asked about me since and mom said what the heck, she's mine now!! Not much is really known about my earlier life except I used to live in an apartment complex and kept running away. Well one day my peeps never did come for me.....and here I stay!

I hope everybody has a wonderful, relaxing, blessed Thanksgiving Day. And here's your first turkey for today:

Have you heard lately about all this "Don't Ask, Don't Toot" stuff? I can't understand it. If somebody asked me if I tooted, dang if I'm not gonna be proud of it. And, heck even if nobody asks me, I'm gonna tell the world I cut one loose! Humans are really strange, with all the things they think up to worry about.

And another thing, why do these peas taste so darned delicious? (Miss Thing won't eat them, but that just goes to show you). I mean we won't eat Wallymelon, or apples or sweet taters but we love frozen peas. I just don't understand it.

This weekend I overheard mom tell dad she wants to take the evil spy cam back! You see our crummy cable people charge $10 a month to unblock it (or something like that) and mom says she doesn't want to pay an extra $120 a year to see me sleep all day! WoOt!

Reason#2 : Jake (That drama queen Dobie with the sad eyes) got adopted over the weekend and NOT BY MOM!

Reason#3: It's RLB season!!!! Yes, the Red Light Bugs have hatched and one is taking up residence in our house. I love me some RLB! (Notice in the video how Blondage tries to ruin my fun - it won't work big feets!)

LOOK what I found on mom's camera !!

It was 4:30 AM, and I was up doing my Doga exercises (I like to get an early start to the day), when I took a peak at her camera (I like to know where's she been) and I saw THESE pics!

I woke her up right then and there to explain and she told me she was helping with the Houston Area Doberman Rescue. I told her my feelings were hurt SOOOO bad that she spent her day off with some non-Mack dogs. She said I'll get over it. Whatever Mom.

Look at this guy's feet! I swear he must be part Paris Rain or something - cause look at the size of those things! My feet are much more handsome, obviously.

And this is the oddest looking dog I have ever seen. (Mom said the lady who runs the HADR raises horses for a living).

Wait a minute fellow. I know JUST what you are trying to do and it will NOT work! I can see you are trying to worm your way into my mom's heart with those eyes...

So don't even try it bud! (I wish I could tell him that in person, cause I so know he would be scared of me and everything).

On a much, much brighter note, my wonderful Airedale friends, Maggie & Mitch, gave me this super cool award! Thanks guys, I really needed this pick-me-up! We love you two!

Hello everybody! What a strange couple of weeks we've had. Momma got the sickies and when she went to get some relief from her people-vet the medicine he gave her made her get more sickies! And then when she took some of dad's happypills from when he had the foodables poisoning, she got even sicker! But anyhowl, she is better now and wants me to ask your forgiveness about not helping me visit my pals' bloggies like she is supposed to do!

Here in Texas we are having some GREAT weather, which is very unusual. Mom says we have to enjoy it while we can, cause it won't last long. Here's me and Tia Lilly enjoying the 70 degree temps:Lily went inside - she thought it was too cold. Silly chahoohoo.

Today we got a Butticure & Pedicure as Lorenza would say! Mom had us all excited in this video. WARNING: Extreme weirdness; you may wanna turn your speakers down.

Lilly didn't get to go this time. She usually goes by herself.
She was all bragging and everything about how she got some "Mom & Me" time. Gag.

Our Weekend

We had a pretty decent weekend. Nothing overly exciting:
Mom gave us some dead cow parts and that was pretty awesome

I played chase the bubbles (Apparently the girls don't like this game)

I found one of mom's old tennis shoes and started to destroy it. Did you know these things make excellent toys??

I helped mom make dinner (as usual)

Paris and I gave Mr. F.N.Stein a good thrashing about

You will NEVER believe what my mom did this weekend -- she babysat another dog and KAT!
My cousin Sheila's peeps went out of town so OF COURSE my mom had to volunteer to look after them.
Here's Sheila - she comes from a land down under. (Does everybody there have red pupils?) She's a pretty nice senior lady, I guess.

I would really love a house like that. Anyhoo, mom went on and on and on about how sweet Sheila was. And what pretty "feathers" she has.

Mom said there was a "Phantom of the Opera dog" next door to Sheila. I bet I can sing better than him...

That Rain

And I don't mean the wet stuff that falls from heaven. Paris actually thought I kidnapped her "baby"!??!!...I was just babysitting...sure, that's it. I figured she needed some help with her mothering duties. Wow, she is a strange one. Plus I taught Chloe some of my Mackman trade secrets and now she is an honorary BT.

Anyhoo, I have to tell you about this GREAT award I got. It's from Miss Molly!

It says I am a versatile blogger! Wow - thank you Miss Molly!! The rules state I have to share 7 things about me and then pass the award on. Hmm. Ok here goes:

1. I don't like water. Does any BT out there? I think if we were meant for water we would have been given longer legs. And longer noses.

2. Given the chance, I like to sleep under the covers, or a bwankie if mom kicks me off the bed.

3. Dad's nickname for me is "Tubby", but he should know by now, it's all muscle.

4. Mom started wanting a BT when she babysat my neighbor, Minnie (who was 8 pounds and loved to cuddle).

5. I suck at online games (Prolly the no thumbs thing)

6. I am a momma's boy but I don't want anybody (especially my Ruby) to know about it. Dang it, the cats outta the bag!

7. I was suppose to be a boxer. Mom was gonna give Dad a boxer for his birthday, but she couldn't find any in our area for sale at the time. So here I am!

Or is it Boston Butt-napped?? I don't know! All's I can say is I am so worried about my new baby. Paris Rain here. You see my sweetest bloggy friends eveh, Quinn & Siku Marie played storky and gave me a new baby! The other day, after I changed Chloe's diaper, we were both settling down to a well deserved nap (Who knew baby fl'amos woke up every 2 hours??).

Anyway after a couple or so hours, I woke up only to find baby was missing!

But that's not the worst part!! Look at these pics I found on Mack's I-phone:

OH MY DOG! He stole Chloe while we were sleeping!!! And even Tia Lilly seems to be in on it! What is this cat eat cat world coming too??

When mom came home last night, there was a pressie box on our front porch. Hurry mom, open it up!

Saturday at the Dog Show

Well not for me, but I still like it when mom goes cause she buys stuff for us to last the whole year.

Here I'm showing mom I desperately need some new toys. Somehow mine got all chewed on and dirty - you know Paris did it.
"Mommy, pwease oh pwease oh pwease bring me some pressies home, okay"??

Plus, she had some very interesting (and somewhat suspicious) doggy smells on her. Certainly she wouldn't pet other doggies, you think?

We, at Mack's Mess, are having a (hopefully) HUGE fund raiser for our dear friends, Mona & The Pittie Pack's new friend Shelby!! WoOt!

You see Shelby is a beautiful pittie girl who was used to fight other doggies. Now she is not in such great condition. Hey fellow bloggeroonis! Sorry I haven't been around too much; I've been extremely busy helping mom! I've been helping her with her baking & cooking (note flour on forehead & nose):

And also I've been helping her with my sleepervising. Man, I hope I get extra kibble for all my hard work!

First off, we got a TON of rain from Hurricane Alex. This is what our backyard looked like Friday afternoon:

Secondly, we would like to thank Kitty + Coco for sharing a new treat idea with our mom. Look what she found at the store the other day:
